1st 100% digital art piece I have done. I remember thinking to myself "Screw digitally drawn comics" Now that I can do it, It's really much better. Goes to show how much people hate change and fight to stay the same. Now when I hear people talk crap about going digital I can't help but roll my eyes.

Sketched in photoshop, sent to Illustrator for inking, then back to Photoshop to lay down the colors.

Made some great time too, literally skipped the pencils and went straight to inking from my sketch lines. The inks were far more superior than the traditional old fashioned way of doing it. Freaking brilliant.

I have always been impressed by digitally drawn comics. I guess I just need more practice. I still draw by hand, scan, ink, color. It's the next step really. I'm a CAD drafter, so I do technical drawings digitally. I do digital photography. I record music digitally. I read digital books. I have a digital clock. ;p I guess I just have to get used to my hand being on the tablet while the lines are on the screen. Something about that throws me off. Great work! Very inspiring.

I use to be a cad drafter as well. I use to make doors and windows, it was what turned me on to the digital art world. I was taught CAD so I taught myself PhotoShop. I takes some time to get used to the tablet but you'll eventually get there. About digitally, I like to think of it like this; the guitar went electric, why can't paint and colors? It's finally our turn!

Exactly! I'm also a photographer. I can't tell you how many times I've heard from "purist" photographers that Photoshop is cheating. Yes, there are amazing things you can do in Photoshop, but if you think about it, photographers were cropping, dodging, burning, color correcting, and doing multiple exposures LONG before Photoshop, or digital photography for that matter. It was all done in the darkroom. Photoshop just makes it easier.

Being a guitar player, I like your electric guitar example. Photoshop isn't cheating. It's advancing.

I have a photography blog and I recently wrote an article on how I differentiate between digital photos and digital art, both being wonderful forms of expression!
